New England Classic coming up at Hemond's MX Park

Don't miss the 3rd annual New England Classic June 27 & 28 at Hemond's in Minot Maine. All riders are welcome, you don't need to belong to any organization to race the Classic.

They'll also be holding a riding school a couple days before this race so that would be a good chance to get some laps in on the track and pick up some pointers.

For more info check out the New England Classic web site here.

Linda Kuchy memorial race July 18th at MX338 in Southwick.

Linda Kuchy was a NEMA mom who was instrumental in bringing NEMA to it's glory days. She passed away after a long battle with Lukemia. Each year since Linda's passing NEMA has held this memorial race to raise money for cancer research. Racers are asked to download this form and try to collect as many sponsors as possible. This is a great cause. More details about this race will be added.

Stop by Kevin's Race Service at all the NEMA races.

Kevin's always has lots of parts, accessories, tires and service. He can help you out no matter what kind of bike trouble you might have.

Message board registering

These days there are anywhere from 6 to 12 spammers trying to register for access to the NEMA message board so we switched to a manual approval process. That keeps out the guys trying to sell drugs and pirated software but if you try to register with a user name that's not a little MX related or identifiable as someone associated with NEMA or motocross you might not get approved. Please keep that in mind when choosing your user name.

Head ref wanted

NEMA is currently taking applications for the head ref position. The deadline is March 15th. If you're interested please email or call Mike Moran wam999@msn.com 508-529-6460

Lead ban stops youth motorcycle sales!

A deadline is fast approaching on February 10 that could potentially be deadly for the youth motorcycle and ATV market. In less than two weeks, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, enacted August 14 of last year, will go into effect and ban all products designed for children ages 12 or under which contain lead over specified limits. The Specialty Vehicle

Institute of America and Motorcycle Industry Council are attempting to get an exemption for ATV and motorcycle parts. Read the whole story at motorcycleusa.com
